CCTV Video Balun 16 CH active video balun rack mountable

CCTV UTP video baluns, also known as UTP baluns, allow old-fashioned
coax cable to be substituted by category 5 or CAT5E cable and other forms of twisted
pair wire like 22/4 alarm wire, telephone wire in CCTV video camera & surveillance installations.

The package includes a 16 channel active twisted-pair receiver and
RJ-45 connectors transmits real-time security Camera video,
16 channel 3000ft with active video balun and more than 1500 ft.
with passive video balun, just by using CAT5 or UTP
(unshielded twisted pair) cables.

Video baluns allow professional installers to use more cost effective structured
cabling methods to wire security cameras. By using video baluns,
UTP wire such as cat-5 can be run over longer distances easier
than coax cable and for less money. Active balun transceivers enable
UTP wires for cameras to be run distances up to 3,000 feet. 

It is perfect for larger surveillance installations where port density
and Camera number growth is prevalent.

A Video Balun is a good choice for long cable runs. Coaxial (RG59)
cable is usually the best medium for transmitting
video, however, video traveling on RG59 is limited to about 600'
before video quality degrades. Video Baluns allow
signal to travel over Cat5E for several thousand feet. Additionally,
Cat5E cable is less expensive and easier to pull.

There are 2 types of Video Baluns, passive and active.
Passive video Baluns are good up to 1,000 -1,200 Ft. Active
Video Balun transceivers can extend the range to 4,000 feet,
but they require power (12 V DC).

Another advantage of transmitting video over Cat5 cable is
that you have multiple pairs of wires. Typically you have 4
pairs of 22 gauge wire in a Cat5E cable, so you can use one
Cat5E cable for 4 security cameras.

Please keep in mind that the voltage drop on normal cat5e wire

Is around 1V for every 100 ft. run, normally power up the camera using
one pair of the cat5E cable for power is not a very good idea.

The best technique  for running video balun in distance of more than 1000Ft
 is to find location that you can power up the camera locally where  the camera
is mounted,
